It’s Spring and the Asheville beer community is brewing up some hoppy craftiness.  From diverse flavor profiles of pales, reds, stouts, IPAs and beyond. So, don’t shy away from a love affair with beer because we’ve brewed up some fun buzz-worthy ideas for a beer date night in Asheville.

FULL-BODIED FUN

Beer Yoga

Not a gym rat? Hit the brewery instead and swap out your water bottle for a beer bottle. Cheers to beer yogi’s for encouraging yoga pants as date night attire! Huffington Post recently reported beer yoga as a fitness craze consuming the nation and beyond. “Watering” Hole 

Raise a paddle and then a glass! Asheville offers many paddleboard, kayak and canoe tours that vary in length and skill level.  The 4:30pm-7pm Late Afternoon Tour with Wai Mauna ends at the River Arts District, where you can enjoy a beer at Wedge Brewing and taco at White Duck Taco.  French Broad Outfitters offers a 2 person canoe tour (with room for a dog or child) of the Biltmore Estate.  You can bring a cooler with drinks and snacks while canoeing around the Biltmore grounds.

Beer Runs

Beer has been praised as a decent post-exercise recovery drink! Maybe that’s why breweries are pouring out beer-fueled runs like the Hi-Wire 8k and Highland Brewery’s Night Flight. Even Forbes is drunk in love with this concept and recently published a list of beer runs to train for this summer.

Beer Tours

Beer City has it’s hand in creative and fun beer tours. Asheville Brews Cruise offer multiple breweries in one day via bus that allows you to drink up many local varieties and, thanks to designated drivers, partake responsibly. Paddle your way through downtown Asheville with The Amazing Pubcycle, that allows you to BOYB, with some pub stops along the way. Take a Brewery Tour

Breweries typically offer regularly scheduled tours. Get a glimpse into the beer-making process followed by a flight tasting. Think of beer festivals as huge brew tastings in a celebratory atmosphere. Events like the Great American Beer Festival bring together beer makers for both your enjoyment and brewmaster competitions.
