Just in time for holiday gatherings, who wants to learn how to craft an all-local cheese & charcuterie board to impress your family and friends during the festive season? Well, we have the perfect activity date night for you! Join us and many local artisan makers at AR Workshop Friday, November 15th at 6:30 pm.
You will learn how to build your own wooden serving board that you can add to your kitchenware collection followed by an instructional workshop on how to piece together the perfect meat and cheese board made of all delicious, local artisan goods.
AR Workshop
A DIY space centered around creativity and a whole lotta fun! Located on the cusp of Arden and Fletcher, this unique workspace is designed to allow like-minded creatives to explore their hobbies and passions while mingling and gathering with others in their community. A win-win for everyone! The perfect spot for a girls’ night out, family date night, or a unique experience with your partner.

Who?
AR Workshop will be leading an instructional DIY project on how to build your own serving board. Is that it? Not a chance! Jenn Gordon, of Asheville Date Night Guide along with Katie Moore of the WNC Cheese Trail, will be introducing a bounty of locally made products to demonstrate how to design your very own local cheese & charcuterie board to enjoy with friends and family at holiday gatherings this season. We will discuss why all of these products go so well with each other and how you can find them year-round.
Calling all cheesemongers! This date night is for you. How many of you have discovered the WNC Cheese Trail and are familiar with the local artisan partners involved with this amazing association? If you love cheese, are curious to learn more about the process of cheesemaking and want to know more about local dairy farms and creameries, then you should definitely mark this event down on your calendar.
Local Makers
You and your date will learn how to design your own local artisan meat and cheese board utilizing all local products: Charcuterie from everyone’s favorite homestead Hickory Nut Gap Farm, locally sourced nectar from the honeybee experts at Asheville Bee Charmer Shop in downtown Asheville, flavorful jams by Imladris Farms, and delicate goat cheese by the goat cheese masters at Round Mountain Creamery in Black Mountain.
Fermenti foods will be adding their packed jars of deliciously fermented vegetables to the mix because it is no secret that pickled veggies are the perfect contrast to any sweet gathering. The blue cheese creators at Blue Ridge Mountain Creamery in Fairview, NC will be in boosting the flavors of our boards with their pungent blues.
Are you thinking that this is enough? Nope. Yellow Branch Farmstead will be including their incredible farmstead cheeses taking this cheese trail party board over the top. Then, last but certainly not least, Asheville’s top cracker company, Roots and Branches will be providing the vehicle to all these delicious cheese trail goodies. All this while sipping delicious small-batch wines carefully selected by the ladies at Rustic Grape Wine Bar in which we will be offering pairing tips for the items on the board. Can I get a whoot whoot!
