This Saturday is National Best Friend’s Day! Grab your best friend and head down to Arden. That’s right. We are sending you against the summer hustle and bustle and suggest you check out the south side! Not only is the traffic light, but the parking is also easy and free! Now, time for your itinerary!
Saturday Morning
Start your morning off by heading to Bee Hive Coffee Bar for an incredible espresso, golden milk latte and a breakfast treat that will make you drool. Hang in this super chill cafe or take your breakfast to the outdoor seating.

Next, take five steps to the right and DO GOOD at AR Workshop’s Woof Meow Rescue Benefit! Create a customized frame and cuddle some of the areas cutest pups! Although all the cuddles are free, these pets will also be available for adoption! Proceeds will benefit Woof Meow Rescue, our favorite foster-based volunteer community bettering the lives of homeless pets! This event does require you to register ahead of time to pick your design. So, go register for this fun and furry event now!

These furry friends are also are in search of; blankets, towels, dog food, dog crates, leashes/collars, puppy pads and most importantly, New Pet Foster Parents!

Saturday Afternoon
All this cuddling is sure to make you hungry again. We’ve got two great suggestions for you:
Rocky’s Hot Chicken Shack: Located right across the street, find Asheville’s favorite fried chicken shack! Voted WNC’s best friend chicken four years in a row, we recommend you dive deep into some southern comfort favorites.

12 Bones Brewery: Just a 2 minute drive away, check out the new 12 Bones Brewery! Get some killer BBQ eats and then wash it down with their creative handcrafted pints or try their homemade root beer. We are massive fans of their root beer.
Wrap up this epic day with some bonding at Lake Julian Park. Whether you want to go fishing, take out a paddleboat or toss some horseshoes, this is a perfect way to wind down and chill with your best bud. If you adopted a pup, be sure to check out the walking trails.
