Small Plates, Perfect for Double Dates: New Menu at Gan Shan Station

Are you looking for the perfect place for a double date? We’ve found it for you at Gan Shan Station! With their new dinner menu, from the small plates and flavor diversity, there is something for everyone and plenty to share. This hip Asheville restaurant is not new to the area, yet their menu has recently been recreated, offering an Asian fusion restaurant that will have you eating classics from Thailand, Vietnam, China and beyond.

What to Expect?

During a recent visit to explore their new menu, we ordered many small plates and a main course each. Catering to several food sensitivities was a breeze, as the menu is clearly labeled for those that are gluten sensitive, vegetarian and vegan.

Before we stuffed our faces, one person dining with us ordered a Ramuné, a Japanese soda with a unique bottle, containing a marble. The most exciting part was trying to figure out how to open it. Thankfully, directions were provided and we were able to try this interesting refreshment. Order it, just so you can understand what we are talking about! If you are dining with children, this will likely be their highlight.

Small Plates

As the small plates began to arrive, we dove right into the Osaka Style Okonomiyaki, a Japanese comfort food pancake. Next up, the table favorite was the Thai Wraps offering both varying textures and explosive flavor. Both the hostess and waiter recommended the Chil Cumin Ribs and how could you dine at Gan Shan Station without ordering a boat of dumplings!?

Main Course Dishes and Atmosphere

Shockingly, we were all ready to dig into more Asian greatness and ordered dinner. From Pad Thai to Drunken Noodles, we all finally began to feel our bellies fill and stopped to take in the scenes. Gan Shan Station has a large open feeling with a full bar and visibility into the kitchen. It is easy to dine with groups or intimately with your loved one. One thing is for sure, you will experience unique dishes unlike anything else in Asheville, of course, other than Gan Shan West.

Now add Gan Shan Station to your date night “must visit” list and perhaps bring along another couple to try all the new creations together!
